Acts 2:46 says of the disciples, “Day by day they continued meeting together
in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house.” When the Spirit
came upon the people, transformation happened. The disciples
became one in Christ. After this event they continued to meet
together in the Jerusalem temple. But they also met together in
smaller groups – in homes.
We believe in gathering together on Sunday mornings for the proclamation of God’s Word, corporate worship, prayer and the celebration of communion. This is a priority that we desire from every believer. However, we have now reached a point as a church where we desire to see the same level of commitment for our Life Group ministry.
It is a statistically proven fact and a Biblically proven fact, that people grow deeper in a small group environment. If we as a church desire to see people advance in their faith journey, then this is a mountain we must climb.
Life Groups facilitate:
- -The application of the Word to our lives
- -Accountability for living a godly lifestyle
- -Caring for one another
- -Service to others
- -The development of leaders
The ultimate purpose of Life Groups is to deepen people’s knowledge and faith in God in order for them to become disciple-makers for Jesus Christ. “The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, these entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” (2 Timothy 2:2)
1. To see Life Change through deeper knowledge and faith in the Lord.
2. To see disciple making become a Life Style for all believers who seek Life Change!
3. To see all Life Groups produce new Life Groups!
It is our desire at Calvary Baptist Church to encourage people to join a life group.
At present, we have seven different Life Groups meeting in various locations within the Killarney area and over seventy people committed. If you are new to our church family and would like to join a life group, please contact us. We will make all arrangements for you!
